Meade Café is owned by two well experienced and passionate chefs, Leonardo and Michael.

Leonardo de Bruyn has worked in the industry for more than 13 years. Over a decade ago, he graduated from chef school with a Diploma in professional cookery. Throughout his career, he has been an integral part of many teams, and gained a great deal of experience working different roles in the kitchen and eventually running them.  
It has always been his intention to use the skills he has learned to help and improve others. Being a hard worker and an active role model to those working with him, he leads by example and aims to better and inspire all who comes through his kitchen.

By his side is Michael-Ashley Underwood. With a distinction for his Diploma in Professional Cookery, and over 16 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Michael knows the ins and outs of every aspect of the business.  

With 11 years of experience behind his name as a qualified chef at high end resorts and restaurants, he was also promoted to the position of head chef which he held for 8 years. Working with Meade Cafe until 2021 when himself and Leo took over the restaurant. He is passionate about the industry, and a lifelong student of his art. He believes he can make an impact on the industry by creating new innovative dishes and touching lives with his cooking.  

Their strong alignment of values and their deep respect for each other allows this partnership to offer an elevated feel to the restaurant, combining their strengths and sharing creativity. Together they allow the restaurant to reach new heights and they have managed to create an environment that has a loyal and supportive clientele base, with returning guests that have supported them since the beginning.
